Mistplay is the popular apps that pay you for playing games online.

But is it too good to be true? As an avid mobile gamer, myself, I decided to download Mistplay and spend some time testing it out to see if it really provides money-making opportunities or is just hype.

Clairice Cochrane Says: I never leave reviews for apps, but this one is great. I’ve had it for a while and have made around $100. It takes time but just playing passively does get you a bit of cash. Of course, if you choose games with a higher multiplier it will go faster, and there are even some games with 0 ads. The boosted games encourage me to try games I would never have chosen myself and there have been a few I have fallen in love with!

Todd Miller Says: The good thing: is it did pay as advertised. The frustrating things: -pay attention to dates on money. Some expire and money is lost. -popups in the game can be annoying when they cover important parts of the game at key times. The BS stuff: -I was notified that I had broken terms of use, not sure how since I’m just playing games. When I appeal, they can’t look into it or reinstate my account. No explanation, no resolution, no payout… Multiple tries through support. Still no help.

Dev Demon Says: This pays! It doesn’t pay hundreds of dollars like the scam ones claim. It isn’t big payouts, but it does pay and super quick. $20 is about my max a week, but I don’t play a whole lot. The only negative is after you have played a good while, they stop having boosts which makes earnings a lot faster. That’s part of the reason I probably don’t play as much as I could it’s only one of 2 pay games I play that I can make a few bucks on, and add aren’t all that bad.

Chris Nelson Says: So far I have no problem getting my rewards and earned them at a reasonable rate. The problem comes with the tracker. In some games it works perfectly. Others drop all the time. Games with a lot of ad-watching for boosts seem to be a problem than others but not a 100% rule. I think it has something to do with the focus switching to Google and other ad services and back to the game. I have had 1-2 other games that just refuse to keep on the tracker. Most of the time it is fine though.

Katherine Hordyk Says: While it’s true there are no ads on Mistplay, whichever game you download has ads. The unit times are super slow if you play the same game (from checkpoints 5-15) to complete all the challenges. Most of the time you are downloading a new “boosted” game just for the quick points and units, only for it to never be boosted again or have another version of the game you installed (solitaire) available to install at a boosted rate. Once I cash in my 1 gift card will uninstall. Not worth it.

Solitaire Smash

Mistplay Review: Final Thoughts

Ultimately, Mistplay offers a legitimate way to earn gift cards and cash while playing fun mobile games, but it has limits.

Don’t expect to earn a livable wage through Mistplay – payouts are notoriously low, averaging just $0.50 to $1.50 per hour by most accounts.

However, if you genuinely enjoy playing a variety of mobile games and want to earn a bit of supplemental income on the side, Mistplay is a solid option.

Just go in with reasonable expectations around earnings, and view it as a way to get rewarded for an activity you already enjoy, not a sustainable income stream.
